Meet Dr. Lauren Barbaro

Dr. Lauren Barbaro is excited to join the team at Chatham Family and Implant Dentistry! She understands that going to the dentist can be intimidating or scary, but strives to show you compassion and make all patients feel comfortable and taken care of under any circumstance. Dentistry is far more than treating a mouth, it is developing a relationship with that person and understanding how to achieve each patient's unique set of goals.
Originally from Defiance, Ohio, Lauren grew up the youngest of 6 children. Swimming became a passion at an early age, and taught her hard work and determination as the keys for success. Lauren was a 3-time Olympic Trials qualifier, which ultimately led her to a full-ride athletic/academic scholarship at Auburn University. During her time, she was a 3-time national champion and 10-time All-American, while graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Biomedical Sciences. Lauren stayed at Auburn to obtain her Master's degree in Microbiology graduating with a 4.0 GPA. While at Auburn, serving and helping others became an ideal for Dr. Lauren, and she realized Dentistry was a field in need of compassion and integrity.
Dr. Lauren completed her dental training at UNC School of Dentistry. While there, she not only received the highest standard of training, but also met the love of her life, her husband Dr. Colin Barbaro! She developed a true love for treating children, as well as cosmetic and family dentistry! Dr. Lauren graduated from dental school with Honors in the top 5% of her class (and yes, beating Dr. Colin!). Ultimately, providing patients with excellent treatment, but more importantly, ethical and honest service, became the foundations on which Dr. Lauren practices dentistry!
When Lauren is outside the office, she enjoys spending time with Colin, and their two daughters, Sofia and Etta, and their dog Willow. Dr. Lauren also loves college football (War Eagle!), running, and cooking.
"I look forward to meeting all patients at Chatham Family and Implant Dentistry! I truly believe my greatest gift is being able to serve wonderful people while developing lifelong relationships. I promise to remain humble and grateful for each and every one of you!"
